When I last wrote Belize was at 42 cases of COVID-19. Today marks the accumulation of a total of 47.
- Case 43 – Was understandable as it was a female who came in through the repatriation process through the Northern Border station and is under quarantine in the Orange Walk district. The female is asymptomatic and is not requiring treatment at the moment.
- Case 44 to 47 – Is a new cluster linked to another illegal crossing. The 4 cases are in one single family from a community in Orange Walk; the contact tracing and further mapping of these 4 new cases and their potential contacts has started.
At this point, Orange Walk district remains the entity with the most active cases and in most instances tied to illegal crossings.
