The last four cases of COVID-19 in Belize was reported 53 days ago. Some regulations had begun to ease down, and Belizeans who got stranded in foreign countries had been given the opportunity to return. Unfortunately, due to this, the Ministry of Health informed the public that there was a 19th positive case.
The case is of a 27-year-old male who arrived on Saturday, May 23rd from a cruise ship as part of the established repatriation process for Belizeans. He is asymptomatic and was detected as part of the routine testing being done on all those placed under mandatory quarantine before their release.
Hopefully, this does not cause further wide-spread…
