Several days ago I wrote a letter to UB’s President Professor Sankat on how the dates that had been set in place to attain our degree’s were affecting many individuals. It blocked scholarship opportunities, graduate applications, job increments, and for some even finding jobs in order to start paying student loans.
As a result Professor Sankat has quickly addressed the issue, and made it viable for us to attain our degree’s before the graduation timeline. He was very patient and quick in addressing the matter. Below is an attached image with the message that was released to the public domain.
Although there is a cost involved and a period of one month after the application, it will be speeding up the process. It allows us to grasp our degree’s and quickly start any and all applications that we had put on hold rather than waiting six to eleven months. Bare in mind that most Junior College’s in Belize charge the graduation fee after completing a program regardless of participation, and as such they are able to cater towards the processing of degrees quickly.
Ultimately, the process being set in place by UB is a win win for all parties.
Thank You Professor Sankat,
