I recently got Extreme Pro USB 3.1 128G by SanDisk and tried using them out of the box on my Linux machine. Unfortunately, I got an error message saying that I was unable to mount the USB due to the unknown filesystem type ‘exfat’, you can see the image below. Take note exfat is the filesystem that allows you to copy those huge files such as iso’s that are big in size, say 8 to 10 G. Normally on your typical usb with other filesystems like fat or ntfs it would not be allowed, it’s say something like splicing error file too large 😉 Finally, by installing the packages below you can get this issue resolved.
